  life forms that can see stereoscopically (in "3D" or with two eyes, I guess) had an advantage over those that didn't.

  That's quite clear. So, I understand that they first had to see in stereoscopy, and it was found afterward that this feature was giving them an advantage. But how could they see in stereoscopy in the first place?

  evidence here that people should have learned in high school about biology.

  You're right, my 2 kids are in HS upper year and I tell them that whatever they are taught re. evolution thay must learn so as to get good marks and their degree, it will be high time after that to make an opinion for temselves, because it is a domain which is open to opinion and beliefs, unlike gravity and rotundity of the earth.

  natural selection is the very *opposite* of chance.

  I'm sorry, Kudra, I may be thick but someone will have to explain to me how natural selection has lead me to hear in stereophony and see in stereoscopy. Natural selection is credited here with a piece of engineering which, to me, seems to be well beyond its capacity. Unless of course our ancestors found, one day, with their primitive brains, that, decidedly, life would be so much more enjoyable in stereo, and devised, within themselves, the wiring in their brains and the organs that go with it...

  UK Kingdom halls situated in terrible areas

  as some one who who has travelled britian well, i must make known an observation.

  almost all kingdom halls are in really bad areas.

  fron travelling around scotland i see in edinburgh, glasgow, kilbrinie, bellshill , hamilton, kirkcaldy, glenrothes, methil, dundee, aberdeen, inverness, the halls are in a terrible place where unemployment is rife, drug taking common place and just downright poverty and crime is seen.

  I was quite surprised to see in a US town an area which the planners had dedicated to religious buildings and the KH was neighbouring with temples, churches, etc. It was a pretty residential area, about 30 years ago. I perceived it as a sign that the JW religion was fairly well integrated in the american society and not marginalized as it was, and still is to a large extent, in France.

  i just thought i'd make up a poll on people's viewpoints of who likes this site better or worse than the .

  older one ?.

  as for myself, i kind of liked the older one better, its just seems that the usability was better,.

  Thanks, OTWO for the development. They call it in french Tir au poulet. The possibility of pilot error was ventured by a poster on PRUNE, a site for professional aircraft pilots. At the time I read it, yesterday, that was a rather isolated opinion, he said that the aircraft was too slow to allow the undamaged engine to be started again.

  Well, suppose they fit a grid on the air intake, poor geese would have been flattened against it, hence horrible suffering and sight and animal protection societies making a fuss, better for them to be minced and roasted within an eye blink. Seriously, a grid would clutter the air intake and reduce power. Jet engines are normally devised to absorb insects and birds. When designed, they are routinely tested with chickens (they call it chicken shooting), for some reason it didn't work this time. Could it be that the pilot made a mistake, switching the good engine off after the other one had been damaged ? That happened in the past.

  Tiffy,

  hoping that things aren't going that bad, if you have to choose between peace(and hubby) and religion (or change/lack thereof) I would advise to choose peace and hubby, religion is not worth breaking a family.

  SPELLINGE !

  i know i am an old fart and a pedant,but things spelled incorrectly stand out, like copy of c.o.c in a kingdom hall library.. i don't think it matters too much say,posting on here,or in life generally,so many people make mistakes,but i do think it detracts from your credibility and your message in important stuff i.e a d.a letter for example,any excuse and dub's will ignore what you say.. so,is it not worth checking?

  one word that many on here have a problem with is apostasy,often putting a c where the last s should be.. is having a problem with this word a true example of irony?.
